Privacy policy
This is a courtesy translation. Only the German version is legally binding.
This policy tells you which personal data is processed when you visit this website and when you get in touch, for what purpose this happens, and what rights you have. The legal basis is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in conjunction with the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (TDDDG).

A data protection officer does not have to be appointed under Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG.
2. Hosting and server log files
This website is operated with the following provider: [name and address of the hosting provider]. A data processing agreement pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with that provider.
Enter the hosting provider. If the site runs on a server of my own, replace this with: “This website is hosted on a server operated by me in Germany.”
When the pages are called up, the web server automatically stores the following in what are known as server log files: the IP address of the device making the request, the date and time of access, the page or file requested, the volume of data transferred, the browser and operating system used, and the page previously visited (referrer). This data is not combined with other data sources.
The purpose of the processing is the secure and stable operation of the website, in particular defending against attacks and finding faults. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest). The log files are deleted after [7] days at the latest, unless a specific incident requires them to be kept for longer.
3. Encryption
The transfer between your browser and this website is encrypted with TLS (you can recognise this by the padlock symbol and by “https” in the address bar). Data you send via the contact form therefore cannot be read by third parties.
4. Contact form
If you use the contact form, I process the details you enter there: your name, your email address, optionally your telephone number, and the text of your message. In addition, the time of sending is processed, and your IP address is processed temporarily to prevent misuse; the IP address is not stored together with the message.
The message is sent by email to info@collmann-online.de and stored in my mailbox there. The purpose is to handle and answer your enquiry and, where applicable, to take steps prior to entering into a contract.
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR where your enquiry is aimed at a contract, and otherwise Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries). The data is deleted once your enquiry has been dealt with conclusively and no statutory retention obligations stand in the way; business correspondence is subject to a retention period of six years (§ 257 HGB, § 147 AO). It is not passed on to third parties.
Providing your data is voluntary. Without a name, an email address and a message, however, I cannot answer your enquiry.
5. Contact by email or telephone
If you contact me by email or telephone, I process the data transmitted (for example your name, sender address, telephone number and the content of your message) in order to deal with your request. The legal basis and the storage period are as set out in section 4.
6. Fonts
The fonts used on this website are delivered from my own server. No connection is made to servers operated by Google or any other provider.
7. YouTube videos, only after you click
On the “AI videos” page I show examples that are hosted on YouTube. When the page loads, only preview images from my own server are loaded; no connection to YouTube exists at that point. Only when you click a preview image is the video embedded by Google in extended data protection mode (youtube-nocookie.com). From that click onwards, Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland processes your IP address and information about your browser and may use cookies or similar technologies; transfer to Google LLC in the USA is possible in this context. Google is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
The legal basis is your consent given by clicking (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). You can withdraw it at any time with effect for the future by reloading the page and not starting a video. Details can be found in Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
8. Book trailers
The videos on the “Books” page are delivered from my own server. They are only loaded once you start them, and no connection to third parties is made in the process.
9. No cookies, no analytics
Apart from the videos in section 7, which are only loaded after you click, this website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or tracking services, no social media plug-ins and no embedded third-party content. No information is stored on or read from your device (§ 25 TDDDG). That is also why there is no cookie banner.
10. Recipients and transfers to third countries
The recipients of your data are myself as the controller and the hosting provider named in section 2 as the processor. Transfer to countries outside the European Union only takes place if you start a YouTube video (section 7).
11. Your rights
You have the following rights in relation to the personal data concerning you:
- the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR)
- the right to rectification (Art. 16 GDPR)
- the right to erasure (Art. 17 GDPR)
- the right to restriction of processing (Art. 18 GDPR)
- the right to data portability (Art. 20 GDPR)
- the right to object to processing based on Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (Art. 21 GDPR)
- the right to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7 (3) GDPR)
An informal message to info@collmann-online.de is enough to exercise your rights.
12. Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority
You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for me is:
Die Landesbeauftragte für den Datenschutz Niedersachsen
Prinzenstraße 5
30159 Hannover
