Written work

These books are made with the same technology I bring to businesses: the idea, the story, the structure and every decision about the text come from me, and the writing is done with artificial intelligence under my direction. I take it through every chapter, read against it, discard and have it start again until the text sounds the way it should. What is researched is sourced; what is invented is marked as such.

What comes out of that is here: novels about time, loss and memory, a narrative science book on the physics of time travel, and guides on subjects I have met in working life and close to home. All titles are self-published and available from Amazon as paperback and e-book.

The Days We Forget

A novel

“If you go now, you don't need to come back today.” That is the last message Mara Winter sent her daughter. Two hours later Lea is dead, seventeen years old, alone on a wet country road.

The evening before the funeral Mara falls asleep and wakes up on the day before it. And the next morning a day earlier still. She has four weeks to find out what really happened — and a price to pay that she only understands when it is too late to turn back: for every day she travels backwards, she loses one memory of the child she is trying to save. In the end she can give Lea her life back. She will simply no longer know who she was.

The Daykeepers · Book One

On a Tuesday in October, Milo's mother lays the table for two. She laughs when he asks where Liv is. Then she stops understanding the question. There are no photographs of his sister. No record at school. No memory but his own.

What is left is two dents in the carpet where only one bed stands, and a stopped wristwatch in the lost property office of the main station that has no business being there. When Milo slides it onto his wrist, it starts to tick. Between two seconds lies a library, and on its shelves stand the days that never happened. Somebody has taken Liv's life down off the shelf.

Der Bahnhof, den es nicht mehr gibt

“The station that is no longer there” · A journey between family history and the physics of time

A narrative science book about time travel: what has actually been measured, what is theory, and where does invention begin? Time dilation, simultaneity, light cones and wormholes are explained step by step, with no physics degree assumed.

Carrying it all is a story set in an East Frisian village around 1930: with grandfather and grandmother, at the railway station that no longer exists today. Every explanation makes clear where the evidenced effect ends and the model begins.

Ihr Job wird nicht ersetzt. Er wird zerlegt.

“Your job will not be replaced. It will be taken apart.” · How AI changes your workplace, which of your tasks are affected and what to do over the next twelve months

Whether your occupation will be replaced by artificial intelligence is a question nobody can answer honestly. Anyone who answers it is selling you something. Because occupations do not disappear — individual tasks disappear from many occupations at once. And that is something you can work with.

Figures from Germany instead of headlines from Silicon Valley: the IAB, the ifo Institute, the Federal Statistical Office, the ILO and the OECD, every number with its source and year. Plus fourteen worksheets to fill in, the legal position inside a German company, and at the end a single sheet of paper with five concrete undertakings.

Book cover: Plötzlich Führungskraft

Plötzlich Führungskraft

“Suddenly in charge” · How to win trust, lead with confidence and avoid the usual beginner's mistakes in your first 100 days

On Monday you are the boss. Nobody prepared you. Most new managers learn this by trial and error. That takes a year and costs more than anyone writes down afterwards: a good employee who leaves, a conflict nobody touched for three months.

This book turns leadership into a craft. It sets out what to do in the first hundred days and in what order: which conversation comes first, which question precedes every agreement, what gets written down — and what to say when nothing comes to mind.

Book cover: Neun lachen. Einer leidet.

Neun lachen. Einer leidet.

“Nine laugh. One suffers.” · What bullying does — and what parents, schools and those affected can do

Peter is six when it starts. His face looks different from the others', operated on since he was an infant. Ten operations it will be in the end. The children in the playground need only one word for it. At some point the bullying stops, but even at twenty-five Peter never enters a room without feeling that everyone is looking.

Every scene is followed by the explanation, every figure with its source, country, age group and year: why groups always pick the same person, why most join in the laughter without meaning harm, why “just ignore it” is the worst advice available, and what is left of bullying in adult life.

Abnehmen ab 50

“Losing weight after 50” · Why your body works differently now — and how to get slim and stay that way anyway

You are not eating more than you used to, and the scales still keep climbing? That is not a lack of discipline. After fifty the body plays by different rules: muscle loss quietly lowers what you burn, and hormones move the fat to your middle. Once you know the new rules, you can do something about them.

No starving, no forbidden foods, no miracle cures. With 24 down-to-earth recipes, a four-week starter plan, an everyday guide for shopping and eating out, and a progress diary for the first twelve weeks.
